The Zebra LI3608 SR is a corded 1D barcode scanner designed for demanding industrial environments. It has been developed for businesses that need to reliably scan barcodes in warehouses, production facilities and logistics centres. The set includes the industrial handheld scanner and a USB cable for connection to compatible computer systems.
With its linear imager technology, IP65/IP68 protection rating and high drop resistance, the scanner is suitable for daily use in challenging conditions. It reads linear barcodes on printed labels and electronic displays, even if they are dirty, damaged or poorly printed.
The LI3608 SR supports fast capture of 1D barcodes, even when labels are dirty, scratched, poorly printed or covered with packaging film. This enables staff to identify goods and materials without having to repeatedly rescan.
The integrated 1,500-pixel linear imager captures common barcode formats such as Code 39, Code 128, Code 93, UPC/EAN and GS1 DataBar. Barcodes on electronic screens can also be read. This simplifies the processing of digital and printed information within the same workflow.
The scanner is designed exclusively for linear 1D barcodes. A compatible 2D imager is required for QR codes, Data Matrix and other 2D codes.
The Standard Range scanning technology enables barcodes to be captured at various distances. Under typical conditions, a UPC barcode with a resolution of 13 mil can be read from a distance of 2.5 to 78.7 cm.
For Code 39 barcodes with a resolution of 20 mil, the typical reading range is up to 106.7 cm. This makes the scanner suitable for both smaller product labels and larger markings on cartons and storage containers.
The precise targeting system enables the selective scanning of individual barcodes, for example on picking lists containing multiple codes. The actual reading range depends on barcode size, print quality, contrast and ambient light.
The Zebra LI3608 SR is designed for work environments where dust, moisture and mechanical stress are part of everyday life. Its housing with IP65 and IP68 protection offers resistance to the ingress of dust and water.
The scanner can withstand repeated drops from up to 3 metres onto concrete at room temperature. In addition, the device is rated for 7,500 rollover tests from a height of one metre. This robust construction reduces the risk of device failure caused by typical stresses in industrial use.
With an operating temperature range of –30 to +50 °C, the scanner can also be used in cold storage areas and demanding production environments.
The USB port enables a direct connection to compatible computers and industrial workstation systems. As the LI3608 SR operates via a cable, no battery is required. This simplifies operation at fixed scanning workstations and avoids interruptions caused by charging times.
The supplied USB cable enables integration into existing systems with a suitable USB interface. The LI3608 series also supports other host interfaces such as RS-232 and keyboard wedge with the appropriate accessories.
For businesses with stationary scanning processes, the wired version offers a practical solution with a continuous power supply via the host connection.
In production halls and logistics centres, audible signals are not always easily audible. The LI3608 SR therefore offers various options for confirming successful scan operations.
In addition to an audible tone and clearly visible LEDs, the device features vibration feedback and a direct decoding display. This ensures that staff receive clear feedback as soon as a barcode has been successfully read, even in high-noise environments.
These various feedback options support safe and efficient operation in changing work environments.
Using the Zebra 123Scan software, you can configure scanner settings, update firmware and create configuration barcodes. This enables businesses to adapt the devices to different applications and operational requirements.
For managing larger fleets of devices, the LI3608 SR supports the Zebra Scanner Management Service (SMS). This enables IT departments to centrally configure compatible scanners and carry out firmware updates.
Additional features such as ScanSpeed Analytics and Remote Diagnostics support the analysis of scanning operations and the monitoring of device status. This simplifies fault diagnosis and helps businesses identify recurring issues with barcode capture.
The Zebra LI3608 SR industrial barcode scanner is particularly suitable for warehousing, manufacturing, goods-in, dispatch and industrial logistics. Typical applications include the capture of item numbers, the identification of storage locations, order picking and the tracking of materials.
Thanks to its robust construction, the scanner is also suitable for production halls, cold stores and workstations with high levels of dust or humidity. Its standard reading range is particularly well suited to applications where barcodes are read from short to medium distances.
The USB kit can be connected to compatible PCs, industrial computers and host systems with a suitable USB interface. Further interface options and software tools are available within the Zebra 3600 series for integration into specialised industrial environments.
