The Zebra LI4278 is a wireless 1D barcode scanner for businesses that want to capture product codes quickly and reliably. This set includes the black handheld scanner, a CR0078-SC horizontal charging and wireless station and a USB cable. This provides you with a practical solution for barcode scanning at checkouts, in stock management and at other professional workstations.
Thanks to Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, high scanning speed and a replaceable battery, the scanner is suitable for intensive daily use. The linear imager technology captures 1D barcodes on both printed labels and electronic screens.
With a scan speed of 547 scans per second, the Zebra LI4278 supports fast workflows. The linear imager reads numerous common 1D barcodes, including EAN, UPC, Code 39, Code 128 and GS1 DataBar.
A particularly useful feature is the ability to capture barcodes directly from smartphone, tablet and computer screens. This makes the scanner suitable not only for traditional product labels, but also for digital loyalty cards and electronic vouchers.
The LI4278 specialises in linear barcodes. 2D codes such as QR codes are not supported.
The scanner reads standard UPC-A barcodes with a width of 13 mil from a distance of approximately 2.5 to 78.7 cm. Larger barcodes can also be read from greater distances, depending on their size and print quality.
The high motion tolerance and generous reading angles make it easier to scan barcodes without having to align the scanner or the product precisely. This saves time when scanning items of varying sizes and reduces unnecessary hand movements.
The integrated Bluetooth 2.1 Class 2 technology with EDR enables wireless communication with the base station. Staff can scan products without being restricted by a connection cable.
Under suitable conditions, the wireless range is up to 100 metres with a clear line of sight. This figure applies to the relevant presentation station configuration and may vary depending on the base station and environment.
In addition, the scanner supports a batch mode. Outside the wireless range, more than 500 UPC barcodes can be temporarily stored and transmitted once the connection is re-established.
The set includes the CR0078-SC horizontal base station, which charges the scanner and enables communication with the connected system. The station can be connected to a suitable computer or till system using the supplied USB cable.
For the specified USB configuration, no additional power supply is required. The horizontal design provides a fixed storage space and helps to keep the workspace tidy.
The base station is designed for professional use and allows the scanner to be removed and returned regularly.
The Zebra LI4278 features a rechargeable and replaceable battery. According to the manufacturer, a full charge enables up to 57,000 scans and an operating time of up to 72 hours under the specified test conditions.
The ability to replace the battery supports long-term use of the device. When the scanner is not in use, it can be placed in the supplied docking station to charge.
The LI4278 is designed for daily use in demanding working environments. Its IP53-certified housing protects against dust and splashing water, enabling operation in a variety of business environments.
According to the manufacturer, the scanner can withstand more than 100 drops from a height of 1.5 metres and is designed to withstand drops from up to 1.8 metres onto concrete. The charging contacts are rated for more than 250,000 charge cycles.
Weighing 224 g, the handheld scanner is comfortable to use and can be deployed flexibly across different workstations.
For set-up and management, the LI4278 supports the Zebra 123Scan software as well as Remote Scanner Management (RSM). This allows device settings to be configured and scanners to be integrated into existing IT processes.
Development tools are also available via the Zebra Scanner SDK. Companies can use these to integrate their own applications and tailor barcode capture to their operational requirements.
The Zebra LI4278 with horizontal USB charging dock is particularly suitable for retail outlets, supermarkets, warehouses, dispatch departments and stock management. Typical applications include scanning product labels, stock control, goods receipt and the scanning of digital loyalty cards.
The set can be connected to compatible POS systems and computers via the supplied USB base station. Support for common 1D barcode formats facilitates integration into existing processes.
Compatibility with selected base stations and accessories from the Zebra LS4278 series offers additional options for modernising existing scanner installations.
