Product description

BenQ GP520 for 4K entertainment with flexible set-up

The BenQ GP520 combines 4K UHD resolution with 2,600 ANSI lumens and a long-lasting 4LED light source. This makes the projector ideal for large-screen entertainment such as films, sports broadcasts and games, combining image reproduction, smart TV functions and built-in sound in a single device.

Thanks to intelligent image adjustment, the projector can be positioned flexibly. Auto Cinema Mode adapts the display to the specific environment, whilst automatic correction functions simplify setup.

4K UHD and 4LED technology for detailed images

With a native resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels, the GP520 delivers a detailed 4K UHD display in 16:9 format. The brightness is 2,600 ANSI lumens and the FOFO contrast ratio reaches 200,000:1 with light source dimming.

4LED technology is used as the light source. BenQ specifies a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours in normal operation and up to 30,000 hours in ECO mode. This eliminates the need for regular replacement of a conventional projector lamp.

Wide colour gamut for films and visual content

The projector covers 98 per cent of the Rec. 709 colour space and 81 per cent of DCI-P3. The 30-bit colour representation enables the reproduction of up to 1.07 billion colours, thereby supporting finely graded colour gradients.

Various picture modes are available for different types of content. These include, amongst others, Auto Cinema, Cinema, Game, Sport, as well as modes for HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG.

Smart adjustment for flexible placement

The GP520 is designed for straightforward set-up in a variety of rooms. The automatic 3D keystone correction adjusts the vertical alignment by up to ±20° and the horizontal alignment by up to ±40°. In addition, the rotation can be automatically adjusted by up to ±30°.

Manual 3D correction is also possible. This allows horizontal and vertical deviations of up to ±40° and rotation of up to ±30° to be corrected. The projection ratio is 1.2:1.

Google TV for integrated streaming

The integrated Google TV, based on Android 11, enhances the projector with smart TV functions. This allows streaming content to be accessed directly via the projector, without the need for a separate streaming device to provide basic smart TV functionality.

For wireless connections, the GP520 supports Wi-Fi 6 with 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz networks, as well as Bluetooth 5.2. Wireless projection is compatible with Google Cast and iOS mirroring.

Integrated 24 W audio system with Dolby Atmos

Two built-in speakers, each with 12 W of power, enable sound to be played directly through the projector. A 3.5 mm audio output is also available for external audio solutions.

HDMI also supports eARC with Dolby Atmos. This allows the GP520 to be integrated into compatible external audio systems.

HDMI 2.1 and USB-C for modern source devices

Two HDMI 2.1 inputs with HDCP 2.3 support signals up to 4K at 60 Hz and ALLM. The second HDMI port also supports Audio Return+. This allows, for example, games consoles and other AV sources to be connected directly.

The USB-C port supports DisplayPort and Power Delivery as output. There are also two USB-A ports, one of which can be used, amongst other things, as a media reader and for power delivery at up to 5 V/1.5 A.

Gaming with ALLM and low input lag

For gaming, the GP520 supports ALLM via its HDMI ports. BenQ specifies an input lag of 17.9 ms for both 1080p at 60 Hz and 4K at 60 Hz.

Special ‘Game’ and ‘HDR Game’ picture modes enable a display optimised for gaming. This means that, in addition to films and sport, the projector can also be used as a large-format display for compatible games consoles.

Applications and compatibility

The BenQ GP520 is suitable for 4K home cinema, streaming, sport and gaming. Thanks to Google TV, built-in speakers and automatic image correction, it can be used as a standalone entertainment system or integrated into an existing AV setup via HDMI, USB-C and eARC.

The supported input resolutions range from VGA at 640 × 480 pixels to 4K UHD at 3840 × 2160 pixels. HDMI 2.1, USB-C with DisplayPort, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth offer a range of wired and wireless connection options.
