How to apply for a licence:
*The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio. The rule of thumb is that for every 1 watt you will get 1 mile of coverage guarantee, or more depending on the conditions.

The Mitex Xtreme will be very suitable for your needs, the radio is water resistant but not water proof so as long as you don't drop it in water, it'll be fine.
No they don't. They come pre-programmed from factory. The license is just the permit so you can use them legally.
When used in cars that will have the windows closed or in indoor spaces is always recommended to use an external antenna such as their Mitex Genuine UHF Mini Mag Antenna Kit | Onedirect

It’s hard to tell without doing some testing. We have a few customers using these radios in different ships without problem, but each scenario can be different, best will be to buy a pair to do some testing, if they don’t work you can always return them as long as they are in brand new condition (packaging and everything else).
