Hello Philip,
Yes it can! BT will need to be made aware of this change so they can configure it properly to your account. In some instances they may refuse to do so as you did not buy the handset from them. However, there is no reason they cannot do this.
Some of our clients have had to raise a complaint with BT for them to do som others have been able to do it with no issue. In both instances though, the phone has been configured.
