Jabra Reach is a USB-C extension system for video conference rooms designed to simplify BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) meetings. It allows you to connect your laptop to the room’s audiovisual equipment via a single USB-C connection, eliminating the need for multiple cables and adaptors.
Its architecture, comprising two independent units, facilitates the distribution of connections between the meeting table and the display area. This allows participants to use the room’s equipment from their own laptop without any complications.
The system uses a Centre of Room (TX) unit, positioned near the participants, and a Front of Room (RX) unit, located next to the audiovisual equipment.
Both units are connected via a Cat6a cable or higher, allowing a range of up to 100 metres. This configuration facilitates tidy installations in small, medium and large rooms, without being constrained by the length of conventional USB cables.
Jabra Reach supports a video resolution of up to 4K at 60 Hz in 4:4:4 format, offering detailed reproduction of shared content.
The USB-C connection with DisplayPort Alternate Mode allows content to be streamed from the laptop, whilst the system extends the audio, video and data signals required for meetings.
This solution is particularly useful for presentations, hybrid meetings and collaboration sessions where a stable audiovisual connection is required.
Users simply need to connect their laptop via USB-C to start using the system. No additional drivers or software are required for BYOD connectivity.
Jabra Reach is compatible with the two most recent versions of Windows and macOS, as well as Chrome OS, making it easy to use in professional environments with different operating systems.
The system is designed to work with Jabra video conferencing solutions and other verified peripherals.
Compatible devices verified by the manufacturer include Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS, PanaCast U30, PanaCast 50/55 VBS, PanaCast 50 and Speak2 75, as well as Huddly IQ.
This compatibility allows organisations to make the most of existing audiovisual equipment in the room and offer participants a simpler BYOD experience.
Jabra Reach supports management via Jabra Plus and compatible management tools, making it easier to monitor devices in different rooms.
It also offers remote management via an HTTPS web console in supported configurations. Firmware updates feature digital signature and encryption mechanisms to enhance system security.
Its design with protected ports helps to reduce accidental tampering and simplifies maintenance of the installations.
The two compact units can be installed in various positions to keep a room tidy. The system supports wall, table, screen and cable grommet mounting, depending on the accessories and fixings used.
Each unit measures 134 × 24 × 135 mm, making it easy to integrate behind a screen or under a meeting table.
Jabra Reach allows for USB-C Power Delivery of up to 100 W to charge your laptop during meetings.
This feature requires a compatible USB-C power adapter, which is sold separately. The system includes its own power adapter for operating Jabra Reach.
Jabra Reach is suitable for meeting rooms, hybrid collaboration spaces, training rooms and corporate AV deployments where laptops need to be connected to video conferencing systems quickly and neatly.
Its modular architecture facilitates the standardisation of installations across different rooms and sites. It is particularly useful for organisations using Jabra PanaCast equipment that need to simplify BYOD connectivity without altering the users’ usual experience.
