The Epson TM-T20IV is a thermal receipt printer designed for professional point-of-sale environments. Its print speed of up to 250 mm/s helps to reduce the time taken to print receipts, whilst its USB, serial and Ethernet connectivity offers a range of options for integration into your POS infrastructure.
Receipts printed at up to 250 mm/s
Direct thermal technology allows printing without ink cartridges or toner. With a maximum speed of 250 mm/s and a resolution of 203 x 203 dpi, the TM-T20IV meets the day-to-day needs of checkout counters where speed and legibility are essential.
It supports rolls with a width of 79.5 ± 0.5 mm or 57.5 ± 0.5 mm, with a maximum diameter of 83 mm. The spacer supplied allows the printer to be adapted to the paper size being used.
USB, RS-232 and Ethernet for versatile integration
This version stands out for its comprehensive connectivity with USB 2.0, RS-232 and 100 Base-TX/10 Base-T Ethernet. This allows you to choose a local connection to your POS system or integrate the printer into a wired network infrastructure.
A connection for opening a cash drawer is also available, making it easy to integrate the printer into a complete checkout system.
Reduce paper consumption
The built-in paper-saving function automatically reduces the top and bottom margins, line spacing and the height of barcodes. The printer can also prepare the top logo for the next receipt before cutting the current one, thereby further reducing the top margin.
This optimisation makes better use of each roll and minimises the consumables required for day-to-day operation at the point of sale.
Designed for professional print volumes
The TM-T20IV is designed for long-term use. Its mechanism has a rated lifespan of 15 million lines and its automatic paper cutter is rated for 2 million cuts.
The print head has a stated service life of 150 km or 150 million pulses. The mean time between failures (MTBF) stated by Epson is 360,000 hours.
Simplified paper handling and installation
The automatic partial-cut paper cutter makes it easier to hand the receipt to the customer. Two sensors detect when the roll is running out and indicate when the paper is nearly depleted, helping staff to plan for replacement.
Measuring 140 x 199 x 146 mm and weighing 1.7 kg, the printer fits easily onto a countertop. The wall mount supplied offers an additional installation option where space is limited.
