Epson TM-T20III – Fast and cost-effective POS printing
The Epson TM-T20III is a thermal receipt printer designed for POS environments. With a print speed of up to 250 mm/s, it enables receipts to be printed quickly whilst offering features designed to minimise paper consumption.
250 mm/s to speed up the checkout process
Thermal printing technology eliminates the need for ink or toner. Its maximum speed of 250 mm/s helps to minimise queues during busy periods, whilst its resolution of 203 x 203 dpi ensures clear reproduction of printed information.
The mechanism accepts rolls with a width of 79.5 ± 0.5 mm or 57.5 ± 0.5 mm, with a maximum diameter of 83 mm. A spacer is supplied to easily adapt the printer to the paper size being used.
Reduce the amount of paper used
The TM-T20III features an automatic paper-saving function. It can reduce the top and bottom margins, line spacing and the height of barcodes to optimise the length of each receipt.
The top logo of the next receipt can also be printed before the current receipt is cut, which allows the top margin to be reduced by a further 12 mm.
Connectivity suitable for wired POS terminals
This version features a built-in USB connection and an RS-232 serial interface, providing a solution suitable for point-of-sale systems using a wired connection. A dedicated interface also allows the cash drawer to be opened.
This configuration makes it easier to integrate the printer into an existing point-of-sale system and allows a serial connection to be retained for business environments that still use this interface.
Mechanics designed for intensive use
The TM-T20III has a stated service life of 15 million lines. Its print head is rated to last for 150 km or 150 million pulses, whilst the mean time between failures (MTBF) specified by Epson is 360,000 hours.
The automatic partial-cut paper cutter is designed to handle up to 1.5 million cuts, thereby meeting the needs of retail outlets where large volumes of receipts are printed daily.
Simple consumables management
Two sensors facilitate paper management: an end-of-roll detector and a sensor that signals when the roll is running low. This allows staff to anticipate when the consumable needs changing and minimise interruptions at the till.
Measuring 140 x 199 x 146 mm and weighing 1.7 kg, the printer remains compact. The included wall mount offers an additional option when counter space is limited.
Use cases and compatibility
The Epson TM-T20III is suitable for neighbourhood shops, specialist shops, hotels, supermarkets and other POS environments. Its USB and RS-232 connections allow it to be integrated with various wired till systems, whilst its compatibility with 80 and 58 mm rolls provides greater flexibility for creating receipts.
