Which headset is best for the office?

The perfect headset always depends on the needs of the user and the working environment. There is a wide variety of headsets on the market, so it is important to have a good understanding of the conditions of use. There are some key features that we recommend you consider when choosing your headset:

Corded or cordless: Do you need to move from your desk? If the answer is yes, then we recommend that you head for a wireless headset. If the answer is no, then it's better to choose wired, mainly because it will be cheaper.

Type of connection: Which device do you use for work, and do you use more than one? Depending on the type of device you use (phone, PT, mobile phone/tablet) you should choose the headset with compatible connectivity: RJ, QD, USB, Bluetooth, 2.5 mm jack or 3.5 mm jack. Some professionals use more than one device to communicate, in which case we suggest you choose a headset with dual or triple connectivity.

Mono or Duo: Do you need to be in contact with your surroundings while communicating? Do you work in a low-noise environment? If the answer is yes to both questions, you can opt for a mono headset, which allows you to stay in touch with your colleagues. If you work in a noisy environment, we recommend the use of a duo headset, which gives you more isolation and concentration on your phone conversations.

Are the headsets compatible with all desk/fixed phones?

There is a wide variety of headsets for telephones. They can have an RJ, QD or USB connection. If they have an RJ connection, they connect directly to the phone. If the headset has a QD connection, it requires a connection cable (sold separately) to connect the headset to the phone. The cable depends on the brand and model of phone you want to use. Most brands of headsets have connection cables that are compatible with most phones, you should always make sure that they are compatible. There are also models of IP phone that have a USB socket so you can connect the same headset that you would for a PC.

Can I answer/disconnect calls remotely and directly from my cordless handset?

The purpose of having a wireless headset is to enjoy more freedom and to move freely around the office within the permitted range. With a cordless headset, you can answer/disconnect calls remotely, without having to go to the handset, but to do so you need to purchase an electronic or mechanical handset lifter (sold separately). This accessory connects to the base of the handset and the phone, allowing you to manage calls away from the phone. What is the difference between an electronic and mechanical off-hook? The electronic (corded) lifter, also known as EHS, connects to the base of the cordless handset and the telephone and allows you to handle calls directly from the handset. Please note that the electronic cable must be compatible with the telephone to which the headset will be connected. Please consult us for the correct choice. As for the mechanical disconnector, it is an accessory placed on your fixed telephone which allows you to lift the telephone handset by pressing the off-hook button on your headset to manage calls remotely, but it also picks up and hangs up calls from the telephone microphone (it is connected to the microphone input of the headset).

What is the best headset for dual listening training?

If you facilitate training in your office, or you regularly need to do dual listening, you should buy a dual listening cable that allows you to connect 2 headsets to a single telephone or PC. If you have a wireless headset, some models have a "conference" function which allows you to add several headsets to the same base and listen together.
