The Insta360 Mic Pro 2 TX + 1 RX is a wireless microphone system designed to record two speakers simultaneously. It combines two compact transmitters with a receiver and a charging case, a setup ideal for interviews, news reports, presentations, training sessions and professional video productions.

Internal 32-bit float recording to safeguard your takes

Each transmitter has 32 GB of internal memory and can record audio directly without relying on the file captured by the camera. The 32-bit floating-point format offers an extended dynamic range and reduces the risk of losing a take when sound levels vary significantly.

Internal recording lasts up to 44.8 hours in 32-bit mono or 60 hours in 24-bit mono. This feature also allows you to retain an independent track that can be used in post-production.

Multiple polar patterns to suit the recording scenario

Each transmitter features a array of three microphones. Four pickup patterns are available: omnidirectional, super-directional, cardioid and figure-of-8. This allows you to choose a configuration suited to an interview, a conversation or a recording requiring a more focused pickup pattern.

The frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 20 kHz when the low-cut filter is disabled. When enabled, it starts at 100 Hz to limit certain unwanted low frequencies.

AI noise reduction and automatic gain control

The two-stage artificial intelligence noise reduction helps to keep voices intelligible when recording in complex acoustic environments. It can be adapted to filming conditions to strike a balance between clarity and natural sound.

Automatic gain control complements this by adjusting the sound level to reduce the risk of clipping. This automation simplifies recording when speakers alternate between different voice levels.

Up to 400 metres of wireless range

The link between the transmitter and receiver can reach 400 metres in an open, unobstructed environment free from interference. This range provides greater flexibility during outdoor interviews, film shoots, events or productions where the speaker needs to move away from the camera.

The system operates on the 2.4 GHz band and also supports Bluetooth 5.4. The actual range varies depending on the environment, obstacles, interference and the type of connection used.

A scalable system for multi-user productions

In addition to the standard configuration with two transmitters and one receiver, the Mic Pro platform supports set-ups with up to four transmitters paired with one receiver or two transmitters connected to multiple compatible receivers.

This architecture makes it easy to scale up a setup when requirements shift from a two-person interview to shoots involving more participants or multiple cameras.

Extended battery life and fast charging

The transmitters offer up to 10 hours of battery life and the receiver up to 11 hours under the test conditions specified by Insta360. With the charging case, the kit’s total battery life can reach 30 hours.

Fast charging provides up to 1.5 hours of usage after approximately 5 minutes of charging under the manufacturer’s specified conditions. The transmitters reach a full charge in around one hour, as does the receiver.

Customisable E-Ink display on the transmitters

Each transmitter features a 1.22-inch colour E-Ink display. It can display customised visuals, including images or graphics transferred from the Insta360 app.

This feature also makes it easier to visually identify the microphones when they are being used by several people during a production.

For interviews, shoots and productions involving two participants

This setup with 2 transmitters and 1 receiver is particularly suitable for interviews, video podcasts, news reports, training sessions and productions involving two people. The system can be connected to cameras via a 3.5 mm audio connection, to smartphones or computers via a compatible interface, and to certain Insta360 cameras.
