The Epson TM-m30III is an ultra-compact thermal receipt printer designed for professional environments where every centimetre counts. With print speeds of up to 300 mm/s, multiple wired interfaces and support for 58 and 80 mm rolls, it is tailored to the needs of modern retail outlets.

A compact design to optimise your sales area

Measuring just 127 x 127 x 130 mm and weighing 1.3 kg, the TM-m30III takes up very little space on a counter. Its size is particularly well-suited to compact POS set-ups where space must be kept free for other equipment and staff.

The end-of-roll detection works with either a front or top paper outlet, providing greater flexibility during installation and making it easier to replace the consumable.

Print your receipts at speeds of up to 300 mm/s

Thermal technology enables a print speed of 300 mm/s with a resolution of 203 x 203 dpi. This combination helps to reduce waiting times when printing receipts whilst ensuring accurate reproduction of information.

The built-in automatic cutter makes it easy to separate receipts. The printer also supports a wide range of 1D and 2D barcodes, including Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, GS1-128, Data Matrix, PDF417, MaxiCode, UPC-A and UPC-E.

18 W USB-C PD for tablet-based POS systems

The TM-m30III features a USB Type-C Power Delivery port for connecting a compatible tablet. This can supply up to 18 W to the connected device, simplifying POS set-ups based on a mobile terminal.

The network connection also allows the Ethernet connection to be shared with the connected device, with a claimed data rate of up to 20 Mbps. This design helps to minimise the number of connections required at the point of sale.

Ethernet and USB for flexible wired integration

This standard version offers connectivity including 100 Base-TX/10 Base-T Ethernet, USB 2.0-A and USB Type-C. It also features a cash drawer opening interface and a Micro SD card reader.

A USB 2.0 Type-B port is provided for service operations. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct are listed by Epson as optional and should therefore not be confused with the built-in interfaces of this version.

Enhanced protection for demanding environments

The TM-m30III features IPX2 protection against liquid ingress. Its surface also features an ISO 22196-certified antibacterial treatment, and its design facilitates cleaning – features well-suited to professional environments subject to frequent handling.

The paper straightening mechanism enables flatter receipts to be produced without reducing the print speed. This feature is particularly useful when the receipt needs to be scanned, signed or handled afterwards.

Two roll sizes to suit different needs

The printer supports 57/58 mm and 80 mm rolls, with a media width ranging from 58 to 80 mm depending on the manufacturer’s specifications. A roll spacer is supplied to adapt the compartment to the format being used.

Use cases and compatibility

The Epson TM-m30III is designed for specialist shops, small restaurants, cafés, food trucks and kiosks. Its compact size, USB and Ethernet connectivity, and USB-C PD make it particularly well-suited to traditional or tablet-based POS systems. Epson also states that it is compatible with Windows, Android and iOS platforms.
