The Datalogic Heron HD3130 is a wired 1D linear imager scanner designed specifically for the retail sector and checkout counters. The Heron range combines professional scanning performance with a design intended to blend into commercial environments, whilst also offering various options for visual and audio customisation.

1D Linear Imager with CCD sensor

The Heron HD3100 platform utilises a 2,500-pixel solid-state CCD sensor for barcode capture. It automatically recognises the main standard 1D codes, including GS1 DataBar linear codes.

The scanner also supports China Post and stacked symbologies from the GS1 DataBar family, including GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked, GS1 DataBar Stacked and GS1 DataBar Stacked Omnidirectional. It is therefore designed for professional applications focused primarily on scanning linear barcodes.

Up to 270 scans per second

The maximum speed reaches 270 scans per second, enabling a rapid scanning flow to be maintained during day-to-day operations at the point of sale. The maximum stated resolution is 0.100 mm, equivalent to 4 mil.

The minimum print contrast ratio is 15 per cent. These features enable the scanner to handle barcodes of different sizes and densities in standard POS applications.

Green Spot for immediate read confirmation

Heron incorporates the patented Datalogic Green Spot technology, used both to provide read confirmation and to aid in code alignment. The visual confirmation allows the operator to quickly verify that the barcode has been scanned.

With 10 mil codes, the reading distance extends to 35 cm, whilst with 13 mil codes it reaches 40 cm. With 20 mil barcodes, the stated reading range extends from 2 to 60 cm, offering good flexibility for standard checkout operations.

Operates even in very brightly lit environments

The scanner supports ambient light levels ranging from 0 to 100,000 lux. This range makes it suitable for use in retail outlets with varying lighting conditions.

The LED light source is classified as IEC 62471 Exempt Class, whilst the product complies with the European Union and Chinese RoHS regulations as specified by the manufacturer.
