The Datalogic Gryphon I GM4500 is a wireless 1D and 2D scanner designed for professional applications requiring freedom of movement and versatile capture. Its 1-megapixel sensor, omnidirectional scanning and STAR Cordless system allow it to handle a wide variety of barcodes without relying on a cable connection.

Omnidirectional scanning with a 1 MP sensor

Its 1280 x 800-pixel imager sensor allows codes to be captured from different orientations without the need for prior alignment. It also offers the capability to capture images and documents in BMP, JPEG and TIFF formats.

This standard-range version supports 1D, 2D, postal, stacked and composite codes, including common symbologies such as Data Matrix, QR, Micro QR, Aztec, MaxiCode and PDF417.

STAR Cordless System with a range of up to 50 metres

The GM4500 utilises the Datalogic STAR Cordless System operating at 433.92 MHz, providing two-way communication and a range of up to 50 metres in open space.

It supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations, with a maximum of 16 scanners per radio receiver in multipoint configurations. It also features Batch mode to expand data capture capabilities.

Inductive wireless charging

The inductive wireless charging system eliminates the need for conventional electrical contacts between the scanner and its charging system. This helps to reduce the cleaning and maintenance tasks associated with physical contacts.

It features a replaceable 3250 mAh lithium-ion battery, with up to 80,000 scans per charge according to the manufacturer’s specifications. The stated charging time using an external power supply is approximately 4 hours at 12 V DC.

Precise aiming and immediate confirmation

The white illumination system and its four-point pointer with a central cross make it easy to select the code to be scanned. Motionix technology detects movement to facilitate the transition between different scanning modes.

To confirm a successful scan, the scanner combines Green Spot, 3GL, audible signals and optional vibration. This range of indicators is particularly useful in noisy environments or where discreet confirmation is required.

Designed for professional environments

The scanner features IP52 protection against dust and water and withstands repeated drops from 1.8 metres onto concrete. Its operating range is between 0 and 50 °C, with a permissible humidity of up to 95 per cent non-condensing.
