Datalogic Gryphon I GM4200 - Wireless 1D scanning with inductive charging

The Datalogic Gryphon I GM4200 is a wireless 1D barcode scanner designed to offer mobility and reliable scanning performance in professional environments. It combines Datalogic’s linear imaging technology with STAR Cordless System communication and a range of up to 50 metres in open space.

Fast scanning even with difficult codes

Its linear imaging technology enables it to capture high-density, low-resolution 1D barcodes, as well as damaged, poorly printed or difficult-to-read barcodes. It is also capable of capturing barcodes displayed on mobile devices.

The scanner achieves up to 400 scans per second and a maximum resolution of 0.077 mm / 3 mils. Its depth of field allows it to handle codes at varying distances, reaching up to 147 cm with 20-mil Code 39 under the manufacturer’s specified conditions.

Up to 50 metres of wireless freedom

This GM4200 version uses the Datalogic STAR Cordless System at 433.92 MHz. Its range extends up to 50 m in open terrain and supports two-way communication, providing greater freedom of movement compared to a wired scanner.

The wireless technology supports point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations, as well as batch mode to expand the range of applications in different professional settings.

Wireless charging to reduce maintenance

One of the key features of the Gryphon I GM4200 is its inductive wireless charging system. By eliminating the need for physical charging contacts between the scanner and the base, the tasks involved in cleaning and maintaining these contacts are reduced.

The replaceable 2550 mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 80,000 scans per charge. The charging time specified by Datalogic is approximately 4 hours using an external 12 V DC power supply.

Visual confirmation with Green Spot and 3GL

The Datalogic Green Spot system projects a visual confirmation directly onto the code when a scan is successfully completed. 3GL technology complements this information with three green indicators to make work easier even in noisy or poorly lit environments.

Motionix technology detects the scanner’s movement to facilitate transitions between scan modes, whilst the soft-line display helps the operator aim at the desired barcode.

Built for intensive professional use

The Gryphon I GM4200 features IP52 protection and is designed to withstand repeated drops from 1.8 m onto concrete. It can operate between 0 and 50 °C and withstands ambient light levels of up to 130,000 lux.

Its Disinfectant-Ready housing is designed to withstand frequent daily cleaning with disinfectant solutions, a feature particularly useful in environments where equipment hygiene is a priority.
