The BT 4600 has advanced features to avoid time-wasting nuisance calls and is extremely easy to use.
The BT 4600 can block up to an impressive 1000 individual numbers, saving you the time of dealing with irritating nuisance calls! You can block a call at the press of a button: either transfer it to the answer machine or straight to the blocked list if you have answered the call.
The BT 4600 includes BT’s Virtual Assistant, which screens incoming calls*, and those from your contact list get through and those that have been blocked are automatically rejected. For other calls it asks the caller to say their name and asks you whether you want to accept or block that call – therefore you never have to speak to a cold caller again!
By using the speakerphone function button you can take calls and listen to messages hands-free. This leaves you free to multi-task and to share the messages with those around you. There is also a conference call function, which is great for collaborative work like in meetings. The impressive 50m indoor range and 300m outdoor range gives you the freedom to move about when on calls.
With the BT 4600 you can digitally record up to 60 minutes of messages. There are pre-recorded outgoing messages or you can record your own. There are two modes, one that allows callers to leave a message and one that answers the call but does not allow them to leave a message. You can access your answer machine from the handset, the base or from any Touchtone phone. When handset call screening is turned on, you can listen to the caller leaving a message and even decide to interrupt and enter the call.
You are able to store up to 200 entries in your contact directory, which you can easily access by pressing the contact function key. There is also speed dial and call list functions.
The design of the BT 4600 has big buttons and a large clear screen, making it very easy to use - most functions can be completed by the touch of a button. There is a simple menu system which is easily navigable and the 4 line display makes it easy to see which functions that are set as on or off so you know what features are enabled.

This is an analogue phone, is not an IP phone.
This is an analogue phone, not a VoIP phone. To make it work on a VoIP system you have 2 options, either your router has an analogue phone port or you'll need to buy a VoIP to analogue phone converter.
The handset has 15 different ringtones to select from and the base has 5. We are unfamiliar with the kind of ringtones the phone/base have.
There are different volumes that can be changed (ringtone, earpiece, loudspeaker, etc), please refere to the user guide for help: onedirect.co.uk/amfile/file/download/file/13930/product/111870/
Yes, it does. And if you have the number as a contact it will show the contact name instead.
