Hi, I am trying to get twin pack of walkie talkies for my wife and I to keep in contact when we are out on our mobility scooters. They will need a range of about 10 miles in moderatly built up environment, I will need a license but I am not a company or business so how do I go about getting one, I believe it will cost £75 for 5 years, please could you advise me and recommend which walkei talkie would meet my needs. The Mitex Sports is a VHF radio and is only recommended to be used is open areas with nothing in the middle. For your case, is better to look at an option that is UHF, from Mitex you have the General, General Xtreme, Link among other models. Still the range that you are looking to cover might be a bit much and more considering that is a built up area, you can always do a test. As for the license, you should be able to apply one even if you are not a company.
