Hi,
I am moving from a copper phone line to full fibre broadband. I have 3 DECT phones connected to different BT extension line sockets....these all ring in/out on the same number. Is it possible to use the HT801 and connect the old copper line to it at the master socket, or does each DECT phone need to connect via its own dedicated cable to the device (e.g. an HT802 for 2 devices)?
Thanks,
Peter (P.S. I will be using TheNumberPeople to port the old landline number)
It will depend on what your phone provider ends up doing. Some providers are using internet routers that have an analogue phone port on the back, in this case you can connect an analogue phone to it or have an extender connected to it and several phones that will all ring at the same time. Some providers require you that you change to a VoIP internet phone or device, at this point the Grandstream HT801 or HT802 will come in handy since it will convert an "internet line" into a regular analogue line so you can continue to use your analogue phones. Each of these adaptors require configuration from your provider to work.
