The Entel HX486 Advanced Signalling Keypad delivers loud and high-quality audio in a robust and compact licensed two-way radio, operating on the 400 - 470MHz frequency band. This radio requires a licence for use in the UK. Please see below for further details.
The Entel HX400 two way radios exceed MIL Standard 810 C/D/E/F, with a casing that protects it against shock, vibration and moisture. They are rated IP55 resistance to dust and water, making it both splashproof and built to last, even in the most difficult environments.
This radio comes with a 7.4v 2000mAh Lithium-Ion battery that can count its charge cycles and warn you when it is near the end of its battery life. It provides an impressive battery life and retains its charge once charged up to three times longer than other batteries. This battery is rechargeable, however charging units are sold separately.
The Entel HX400 is easy to use, with scan/priority scan functions, VOX hands-free and a programmable channel monitor button as standard. It also features 4 'channel shortcut' buttons and a Local Personal Attack Alarm for your safety. For additional protection, Lone Worker and Man Down functions are both offered by this radio. It additionally supports a shunting mode (for rail companies), Whisper mode for enhanced voice detection when communicating quietly, and is capable of sending status messages.
The Entel HX486 Advanced Signalling Keypad supports 2/5 tone selective calling, to carefully choose who receives your calls. You also have the option of calling groups or individuals, or all radios at once. It offers multiple ringtones, a low battery warning and a programmable scrambler. This radio also features a full numeric keyboard.
For extra security, the Stun function allows you to render a radio inactive if it is lost or stolen, and revive it again if found. To enhance security, this radio requests a password when it is switched on, if appropriate.

How to apply for a licence:
This Motorola two way radio is available to be programmed as:
UHF: 403 - 470 MHz
*The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio. Rule of thumb is that for every 1 watt you will get 1 mile of coverage guarantee, or more depending on the conditions.
