The Entel HT985 Advanced Signalling ATEX is a two way handheld radio that is certified ATEX and approved IIC, with an LCD display and basic function, navigation keypad (non-numeric), operating on the UHF 400 - 470MHz frequency band. The HT985 Advanced Signalling is an ATEX certified radio, and is additionally compliant with IIC T4, the most stringent ATEX ratings, making it the perfect radio for even the most difficult of conditions. The casing of this handheld is shock and vibration resistant, and the radio itself has been certified IP68 - impervious to dust and highly resistant to water, being able to withstand up to 1 hour submersion at up to 5 metres depth. All radios in the HT900 range comply with MIL Spec 810 C/D/E/F.
The HT985 Advanced Signalling two way radio is powered by a 7.4v 1800mAh Lithium-Ion battery, that is included in your purchase. It intelligently counts the number of charge cycles, and warns you when the battery is near the end of its life. It retains its charge up to three times longer than standard batteries, so you can use your two way radio for longer. This battery is rechargeable, however charging units for this radio are sold separately.
This 255-channel radio features a scan/priority scan function as well VOX compatability, allowing you to connect a VOX headset for hands-free use (accessories sold separately). A programmable channel monitor button and 4 'channel shortcut' buttons make the Entel HT900 Advanced Signalling simply and user friendly, and the radio will alert you when the battery level is low. A variety of additional functions make the HT900 Advanced Signalling a simple and effective two way radio, including multiple ringtones, a caller ID function and speed dial memory, as well as retaining lists of dialled, missed and received calls and offering information at your fingertips with its handy info button.
The HT985 Advanced Signalling offers the opportunity to select specific individual users or groups of users to receive your calls, with the 2/5 tone selective calling function. This radio additionally allows you to call all radios in your fleet at once. For easy and effective communications, the Advanced Signalling two way radio features a 400 user contact list, permitting you to access and call your contacts quickly.
A clear, LCD display with scrolling graphics on this radio means it is now even easier to make and receive calls. This screen also shows you the battery level, the charge cycle count of the battery and the receiving signal strength. A useful Whisper Mode to detect your voice even when needing to communicate discreetly, and a Shunting mode (for rail companies) are also featured on this Entel handheld two way radio.
The HT900 two way radios can help you and other users to stay safe on the job. The Man Down and Lone Worker function can give you peace of mind when working or travelling alone, especially when in difficult environments. The Man Down sensors can detect when the HT985 Advanced Signalling Radio is not being stowed in its usual position, and in the absence of a manual response from the user, will send an emergency signal to a pre-determined contact. Similarly, Lone Worker can also be programmed to send emergency alerts when no response is received from the user. For further security, a Local Personal Attack Alarm and Panic button are offered by this handheld two way radio, for aid in emergency situations.
For enhanced security and protection, the Entel HT985 Advanced Signalling is equipped with a Stun function, which allows you to render the handheld radio unusable if it becomes lost or stolen. It is also possible to revive the handset if recovered. This radio offers the option to set a password in order to power on the radio, to ensure that only those intended to use the Entel HT985 are able to do so.

*The maximum range given by manufacturers is based on ideal conditions, such as from hilltop to hilltop, but the range you actually get will be much less if you are in a built-up area. Trees, walls, hills and even the weather can affect the range of your two-way radio.
