The Cisco 7931G IP Phone satisfies the needs of small businesses, commercial and manufacturing workers, and anyone with moderate telephone traffic but with specific call requirements.
Dedicated wait, redial and transfer keys make it easier to handle calls in the retail environment. The illuminated silence and loudspeaker keys clearly indicate the status of the loudspeaker.
A pixel-based white-backlit screen allows you to easily see call information and expandable markup language (XML) services and offer a dynamic user experience.
The Cisco Unified Communications 7931G IP Phone offers several important security features in addition to the IEEE 803.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) option or local power through an optional adapter.
To avoid confusion between the lines and calls concepts, see the following descriptions:
There are 24 programmable buttons. Normally, the system administrator assigns some of these lines (a maximum of 24) to be used to make and receive calls. Each corresponds to a directory number or intercom number that others can use to call you.
Some of the lines may share the same directory number, while others may have a unique directory number. Buttons configured as lines show the assigned directory number and the associated button number. For example, if you have directory number "3105" assigned to button 1, the line appears as 3105: 01 on the phone screen. Each line also has an associated icon to facilitate the identification of its function.
Each line supports a single call. If there are several lines in a directory number, each of them will admit a single call.
24 illuminated line keys to which individual lines can be assigned. Each line key offers a busy line indication if it is shared with another IP phone. Illuminated line keys are also used to access services, call history directories and activate the headphone port.
The phone offers a 10 / 100BASE-T Ethernet connection through two RJ-45 ports: one for the LAN connection and another for connecting an Ethernet device, such as a personal computer.
A full-duplex speaker allows the operator to handle calls without using the receiver or headphones.
The phone is compatible with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express version 4.0 (2) and later, using the SCCP protocol (Skinny Client Control Protocol) or Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.0 and later.
